This is one of my favorite films and is one of the most influential movies ever made. It is available on DVD so privilege yourself to a viewing.
It is a phenomenal film, everyone should see it. Palestine, Iraq, they all apply to what happened in Algeria. It is ironic to see people on the side of colonialism these days.
I have to get around to seeing it.
How about reading a god damn book about the Algerian Resistance movement to French colonialism? Again, the intellectual laziness of the blogger is confirmed and exposed. Alan Dershowits would be proud.

By the way, I read recently relevant chapters from a book on the Algerian Revolution titled “A Savage War of Peace” and much of it was taken from the same source in which “Battle of Algiers” is based, Saadi Yacef’s autobiography. In other words, the movie is not just a film but a historical document so perhaps you should see the movie before you jump to conclusions.

Iran’s policies have never helped the Palestinians — only made them suffer more. Israel’s policies — like pulling out of Gaza — have shown the world that the Palestinians can’t manage their own state.

The UAE uses its oil wealth to contract outsiders (whether entrepreneurs or Pakistani guest workers) to build projects. Its Arab money with Western innovation.
