How the War in Gaza Started…

The pro-Israel US media likes to say that Hamas violated the ceasefire and that Israel was just responding to the Islamic group’s attacks, but long before the ceasefire ended, Israel had been attacking the Gaza Strip. For instance, on November 5, The Guardian reported that Israel attacked the Gaza Strip in violation of the ceasefire agreement and killed 6 Hamas members. Read about it here. This is one incident among many and please keep in mind that such raids occurred during the ceasefire while Israel was simultaneously imposing a severe economic embargo of the strip. So please, keep telling me Israel wants peace.

  1. JZ (Still a proud supporter of Israel) says:

Please, all of my opponents on this blog, respond to these simple facts without getting into silly childish personal attacks: 1. Hamas targets kindergaartens and ordinary people in Israel, but fails. 2. Israel targets senior Hamas members, succeeds, and in doing so also unintentionally kills civilians, simply because Hamas infrastructure is situated next to civilians in crowded areas.

Read some Just War Theory — intentionality is the guiding factor behind the rules of war.

The IDF is remarkably accurate in pinpointing senior Hamas members in a crowded, hostile territory. The vast majority of those killed were Hamas members, which are legitimate targets given the constant rocket fire on Israel’s southern territory. Hamas supporters are indeed the heartless and the foolish, not the supporters of Israel!!

Let me provide an article that explains Israel’s case very well: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123085925621747981.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

Dershowitz? Dershowitz JZ?? He doesnt even TRY to go into detail in that article, and you find it impressive. The most obvious painful detail is that much of what Israel has targeted is not combat related, but rather is part of Hamas’s general infrastructure that helps them rule the strip. Thats why Israel has targeted Hamas policemen and prisons.
On a side note, its very telling that you would be impressed by an editorial article in the WSJ.

Just in case, you have forggoten, and I quote Big_Baby_turk

“Jewish-Zionist, I can understand Israelis who feel they are entitled to a homeland of their own, even though I may disagree with them. But you my friend are a megalomaniac. . . an egotistical bigot whose delusional fantasy of being superior to other races and peoples is the basis of your justifications for these murderous acts and the abomination of state that is Israel. Unfortunately, you are not the only one as your delusions of grandeur and complete disregard for other human beings are the defining characteristics of every Israeli leader to date.”

For anyone who thinks Israel is evil, please read this:

Just read the first few paragraphs to see what I’m talking about.

Anyway, I thought this would be a good time to remind everyone about Chris Hedge’s “A Gaza Diary” published in the Sept-Oct 2001 issue of Harpers magazine, in which he recounts first-:

Children have been shot in other conflicts I have covered—death squads gunned them down in El Salvador and Guatemala, mothers with infants were lined up and massacred in Algeria, and Serb snipers put children in their sights and watched them crumple onto the pavement in Sarajevo—but I have never before watched soldiers entice children like mice into a trap and murder them for sport.

I dont know whats more of a joke, posting Iranian propaganda which may or may not be true (i havent read the article nahid posted), or literally making things up like Arash does, then, when asking for evidence, replying, bizzarrely like a 4th grader, “I dont have to give you s&*t!” bc he doesnt HAVE evidence.
Or, whats even more of a joke is the fatty’s father, who apparently had dirty business dealings with the Islamic Republic which went bad. This is all according to himself.

  10. :) says:

Chunky, that is what YOU said. YOU said that, not me. And yes, the Palestinian cause is fraudulent because of something I said about your father. Just as the Holocaust didnt happen bc someone made a yo mama joke. Do you see what we mean when we say you dont have a rational thought process? As if me exposing the things you told me about your own father here has to do anything with the historical record on Palestinian nationalism. Again, you dont have a rational thought process, bc normal people dont make these connections. In your world Arash, it is ok to lie and make things up about the historical record, that makes you genuine. But If i say something about your daddy, then the whole Palestinian cause is a fraud!!
Arash, are you even at a first tier law school? There is a REASON you arent.

Now, my colloquial Persian is definitely sub-par, I have no background and only took a few classes in college, but Pouya, is “supporterhaye” a Persian word?

  12. israel: Miracle in synagogue: Grad fails to explode!

Yeshiva students praying at Ashdod shul say prayer had saved their lives after rocket hits structure, fails to explode.
While 10 people were injured after a Grad rocket hit an Ashdod yeshiva’s courtyard, a much bigger disaster was averted just several blocks away. A rocket which landed near a synagogue where several worshippers prayed failed to explode on Friday.

“No doubt our prayers saved us,” one of the yeshiva students said. The synagogue was eventually demolished as security forces worked to clear the rocket parts. “This was a miracle,” another yeshiva student said.
