Supporting your country vs supporting your government

I have noticed that some Americans are shocked that some Libyans support Qaddafi. I’m sure there are Libyans who support him for a number of reasons, but lets be honest, some are supporting him because they think that supporting the government is the utmost expression of patriotism. That sentiment is not too far removed and can be found here as well. Many Americans supported the Bush Administration simply because they confused the difference between loving your country and supporting the government – the two are not one and the same in Libya nor are they here in the US.

Lets see your stance on this situation. 🙂

I wonder if your stupid Hero, Nasrallah, would suppport this movement?!

    lol

  2. Reason says:

    Oh Ok!

Your head is still in the sand. I see! I guess the Lebanese News Paper who broke the news that five Iranian agents were arrested by the Opposition in Syria is an absolute baseless lie. I guess Zionist Occupiers went into Lebanon, paid this newspaper to come up with such a lie. Damn Zionists!! They are soo sneaky and powerful.

Iran is the innocent little child along with Hizbollah who are after best interest of Arab citizens only. They have never ever intruded into internal businesses of their neighbors.

Oh yeah, Turkey, one of Iran’s new found best friend just intercepted a plane head to Syria with millions of dollars of Cash. I guess that’s a lie too. I wonder Pouya, whoes money is that? Oh yeah, they spending the money for starvation that is caused by Zionists occupiers soldiers in Gaza strip. It is not going to Bribes and weapon purchases or reinforcing dictators of the region.

  3. iPouya says:

Yes, there are sources in Lebanon that are fervently anti-Syria an Hizbullah and would love to publish tracts that attack them. Did you read the link I posted to education you or are you still just talking for the sake of talking?

  4. Reason says:

No I did read it. Yet this doesn’t prove anything. This guy is simply saying it is “racist” to wonder why there are foreign agents in your country’s security forces clamping down its citizens. However, he yet failed to address the problem of why were those Hizbollah security agents were seen in plain cloths beating Iranians.

Pouya, seriously as much as you are pro-Hezbollah, get your head out of sand. I am sure, by now you have realized there is nothing democratic about this group and they simply have their own agenda for the region. You could come out and say that you like this group simply because it is resisting Israel in the region. But don’t try to blindly justify these groups.

But don’t worry, your boys in Hezbollah and Iranian government are doing their best to ruin YOUR country. I can’t wait till I see that day that you finally come out and say that maybe Hezbollah is ruining Iran and Iranians money is being wasted on this groups where this money should actually be spent in Iran for the Iranian.. But don’t worry I am not holding my breath!

ONE MORE TIME: Did you read the news about Iranian plane being forced to land in Turkey and millions of dollars (IN CASH) were floating to Syria along w/ weapons?! Where is that money going? For humanatarian efforts for the poor in the region? lol

    ipouya

    your response is spot on!!!!

not surprising the Israelis would spread the rumors that Iranians are involved. No doubt, that soon major news organizations will pick this up as “credible.” That’s how its done.

Meanwhile, the Syrians themselves claim that sharp shooters conducted the killing. Who are we to believe, except that everyone will use it for their own purposes.

Let’s not forget that when Israeli agents killed Iranian scientists, there were reports on the web that the Iranian government killed its own scientist. Guess where the reports began circulating from?

  6. PB says:

    Reason

I am not surprised you find joy in little, seemingly, victories of planes being diverted to Turkey, where the money and weapons are likely to be returned to Iran. After all, your entire world is crashing all around you. With the Saudis and Bahrainis on the streets, and kuwaiti economy in complete collapse, Egypt struggling to keep the status quo, and Jordan on the chopping block, you deserve a moment of apparent victory to keep sane. I wish you long health.

  7. iPouya says:

PB, reason’s real name is Arash Kahen. An Iranian-raised American citizen who joined the IDF. He sees the entire world, the entire universe for that matter, with one thing in mind: Israel. He is one of the most one-dimensional beings you’ll ever meet.

Arash, everyone has interests in the region. Iran supports Syria and Hizbullah. Israel opposes all democratic movements in the Arab world bc democracy in the region effectively means anti-Israel. The only movement it supports is in Iran, not bc Israel is inherently an advocate of freedom (bc if it were it would end the cruel occupation of PALESTINE), but because the Iranian gov’t opposes Israel. If Iran was under a dictator that was pro-Israel, like the Shah, you and the Israeli gov’t would defend that regime, just like the Israeli gov’t loved the Shah.

I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention, but what’s happening in the region is a disaster for Israel, especially in Egypt, and is a major victory for Iran (w the exception of what’s transpiring now in Syria, which could in fact bring a regime to power that is even more anti-Israel). Id stop celebrating over the capture of a small cache of arms here or the seizure of Iranian money there. The wider picture should rain on your parade from all angles and you have no one to blame but you and your ideology for it has sowed the seeds of disdain against it in the region for what you and your ideology have done and continue to do in Palestine.

    Good night sweet cheeks.

    Reason

this one will sting, as dear Turkey is welcoming Iranians, as are Iranians doing so for the Turks and the Azaris-No visa required.

  9. Reason says:

    PB,
With regards to Iranian scientist dying, I have no doubt in mind that Israel is behind it. No body in Israel ever claimed that Iranian government was behind it. Israeli media simply didn’t talk about who removed those scientists. However, I cannot speak for other media reports. I read Israeli Media pretty extensively and no body claimed it was Iranian government who did it. (Haaretz, Ynet, Jpost, Yediot Aharonot, and Maarive)

With regards to whether Israel could benefit or not, that’s not the point. Democratic movement in the region is always a step forward. Democracy in Gaza was initially a disaster, yet look at how it discredited Hamas in Gaza to some extend. Palestinians in Gaza are not too happy with the way thigns are in Gaza and they are holding Hamas responsible.

Initially, Islamic movements might score big in elections. In the long run, it is a good thing. Iran another example: initially Islamic Movement was the most powerful force, and now 30 years later, if truely free elections are held in Iran, things will be a lot different.

Whether Iran is winning or losing is another issue. If more ME government fall, it energizes the opposition even more within Iran. Iran will not be the ultimate winner of the situation in ME. Bahrain and Saudi Arabia: nothing will change for Israel.

  10. iPouya says:

“If more ME government fall, it energizes the opposition even more within Iran. Iran will not be the ultimate winner of the situation in ME. Bahrain and Saudi Arabia: nothing will change for Israel.”

Oh wise Nostradamus, what about the events energizing the Palestinians against Israel? Have you been paying attention? There are now calls for a new intifada against Israel. Did you hear that? Now go change your diapers.

Did you see the protest AFTER the victory of the revolution in Egypt?

    Here’s the video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLM3CswkfQw&feature=youtu.be

Would you like me to translate what they’re saying? They are saying “To Jerusalem, martyrs by the millions.” Estimated size of the crowd: 2 million. Now that does not mean, there will be war, but that means the new Egypt will be very very different for the likes of you.

    Hugs and kisses.

  11. Reason says:

    About the Palestinian issue:
Oh yeah, I forgot, this is the first time Israel will have to deal with Palestinian Intifada. Repeat it one more time to yourself: 3rd Intifada. Key word: “3rd”, meaning Israel is well prepared for anything. At the same time, what would they be asking for if they do another uprising? Democracy?! They should ask that from Hamas in Gaza and Fatah in WB. Within Israel, it wouldn’t be the first time we have Arab uprising. What would happen? Some idiots blow some buses in Jerusalem?! Haven’t they done that?

Uprising in Israel is very different. It is not an uprising for democracy. It is motivated by religion. As hard as they try to label it that or you try to justify it. Therefore, it doesn’t change a thing for Israel. We’ll probably see some unrest for couple of weeks, maybe months, and things will go back to Normal.

With regards to Egypt: these are masses of the people. Masses are usually more extremist than the government. However, for the time being Egypt has been very clear with regards to its relation with Israel and border security. I mentioned before: Israel’s only concern is Border Security. Egyptian army is in power now and they will hopefully try to screen the government from any extremists. Egyptian army like I said is very close to Americans and they need Americans. That will force the next Egyptian government to not go that crazy.
Pouya, I am sorry but you really don’t know anything about Israel. Yet you hold yourself to be an expert with bold statements and once in a while throwing some bumper sticker slogans.
Israel never ever ever had, has, or will rely on its neighbor for its security. If something fails in one country, there are 3 other contingency plans that pops right afterward.
History is the perfect indicator. If Egypt decides to go nuts and forget about peace with Israel (which is the worst case scenerio), Israel will march right back into Sinai and does Egypt would really need another embarrassement like that?

Big picture: Nothing will really change for Israel. Same old Middle East Politics were one crazy goes away another pops up. If anything, these revolutions could turn into opportunity.

Iran on the other hand: those Mullahs are shaking in their boots. As much as they are trying interfer with Bahrain’s protests, it seems like their own government could take some blows here and there.

In conclusion: democracies got nothing to worry about. It is the dictators who are shaking in their boots. ANY DAY THAT A DICTATOR IS TOPPLED IS ALWAYS A GOOD DAY!
